POP-UP DANCE WORKSHOPS

Our Pop-up Dance Workshops are back! Through the support of the Braswell Arts Association, we are proud to offer FREE quality dance workshops with live music for the Basel community. All levels, all ages and all body types are welcome.

No previous experience necessary and join as many classes as you like.

CLASS SCHEDULE

KIDS JAZZ

This class is a perfect way for your child to increase their coordination, musicality and will help develop their rhythm and understanding how their own body moves. The kids will learn basic dance steps in an age-appropriate manner with playful games and exercises in order to keep them engaged and having fun! For the class, please send your child in clothes they are comfortable moving in as well as ballet slippers or socks. And don't forget a water bottle!

BALLET BODY

Looking to strength and tone your muscles? This class is for you! At the beginning of each class, the teacher will demonstrate all the exercises to the group. After this, a timer will be set for a certain duration and each time the stopwatch beeps everyone will circulate to the next post. A fun way to get yourself moving and discover new exercises while creating the Ballet Body you want! For this class, you'll need water, (clean) sneakers or bare feet and possibly a towel!

BEGINNER BALLET

No previous training is required for this beginner ballet class. The class follows a traditional ballet class format, starting at the barre focusing on posture, positions then continuing with stretching and strengthening exercises. Big center movement and classic traveling steps are added as the class progresses. For this class, you'll need to wear clothes you can move in, ballet slippers if you have them (socks are also fine), and don't forget a water bottle!

CONTEMPORARY

Our Contemporary teachers are all different, but expect a focus on big movements while maintaining fluidity and focusing your mind to improve your body's response. For this class, you'll need to wear clothes you can move in, ballet slippers, bare feet or socks, and don't forget a water bottle!

URBAN

Get moving! Use the beat to inspire movement like they do in music videos. With fun music and cool choreography, do something for your body while having fun too! No previous experience necessary. For this class, you'll need to wear clothes you can move in, ballet slippers, bare feet or socks, and don't forget a water bottle!

PPP PROGRAM Q&A

A small presentation and Q&A about the BAC Pre-Professional Program. All parents and potential students welcome! The Braswell Arts Center Pre-Professional Program is a year-round training and mentorship program for dancers ages 13-18, who demonstrate exceptional potential for a career in dance. With our experienced teachers and mentors coming from professional dance careers with some of the best dance companies in the world, we know what it takes to succeed in the dance world as it is today. Dancers in all stages of technical development are invited to apply.
